Business Manager / Bookkeeper

Join the team!

We’re looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our team for up to 20 hours per week, working remotely from anywhere in Australia. You’ll manage a portfolio of music and creative clients, working closely with our Senior Accountant. If you know your numbers, love the creative industries and enjoy building great client relationships, you’ll fit right in!

Manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of music and creative clients, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll and superannuation
Prepare tour reports and settlements, tracking income and expenses across shows and territories
Calculate management and agency commissions accurately
Account for the varied income streams our clients earn, such as performance fees, royalties, merchandise, streaming and sync
Prepare BAS/IAS and support tax compliance alongside our senior team
Build strong client relationships and be a reliable point of contact
Review and support the work of more junior team members, and mentor them as needed
Work autonomously and manage your own workload, while knowing when to bring in the Senior Accountant on complex or unusual issues

What we're looking for

5+ years in a bookkeeping or accounting role, with Australian accounting and tax experience
Proven music industry accounting experience, including tour reporting, commission calculations and multiple income streams
Highly skilled in Xero and Hubdoc
Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or higher (BAS Agent registration desirable)
Exceptional attention to detail and the confidence to make sound decisions independently
Clear, professional communication with clients and colleagues, and the judgement to ask for help when it matters
Experience in the wider creative industries is a bonus
